The Crucible of Creation

In the beginning is water and then there is sound. From the lovemaking of sound and water, movement and beauty arise to create form.

A Holy Birth

The miracle of the birth of Jesus is the miracle of all of our births. From the joining of a sperm and an egg, an amazing journey of embryogenesis and fetal development occurs, and we arrive on the earth.

The Bible's story of creation pales compared to the reality of this miraculous process. If those early storytellers had our current knowledge, then no doubt, the story of Jesus would be quite different. The danger of story telling, whether it is about Santa or Jesus, is that it removes the sacredness of the reality of life and dissociates it into the realm of whether you believe the story or disbelieve the story. Meanwhile life continues its miraculous process of form making and form dissolving.

Life and Beauty

Beauty making is an essential element of creation. Life is not just a Darwinian concept of "survival of the fittest". That is a scientist and materialist view of creation, not an artist version. How did the bird become so beautiful, colorful and sweet sounding? It certainly wasn't just inspired by trying to survive another day. If this was true there would be a lot of drab and plain looking birds with depressing songs.

Somehow, the process of beauty making is so essential to life that it occurs even on the cellular level. Look at the amazing beauty of the developing embryo, of the catepillar reforming into a butterfly. Beauty forming is not only life affirming it is life making, the essential engine of creation and evolution. It is life loving itself! Neem Koroli Baba said " The best form to worship God is all forms". So let's all make beauty and love!

This is dedicated to my beauty making sister, Ariana.

On being in love

"Being in Love"
These words say it all!
So why even look for it?
Being is always here and implies not doing or searching or looking.
Love is the deepest expression of being, the softness, openess, and joy of the heart.
So, how can there be anything besides "being in love", with ourselves, other, and everything?
It is not something to want or to get, it is the essence of who we are, the source of life.

Love and Morphogenesis

Hello All,
This is my first blog writing and it is at the end of an amazing day of transformation. It is a unique feeling to witness my cells being prepped for a new form, hence the title "Love and Morphogenesis" Morphogenesis is referring to the birth of new form and is the essential component of life and evolution. I have often mistaken morphogenesis as a kind of personal transformation. A personal transformation in the sense of adding or improving upon my self or possibly removing an undesirable trait. It is quite a different scenario to realize that your own cells and psyche are being prepped by a bigger force for something that has yet to materialize or form. This must be what pregnant women feel when their body is co-opted for the development of the embryo, fetus, and birth. It is also what the embryo and developing fetus must feel during that most amazing process that occurs within the womb.

So what's love got to do with it?

Primarily, it is the main attractive force that leads to fertilization and birth of form. As Richard Grossinger says, "The bible is not the word of God. If you're God you write a whole lot better than that. The embryo is the word of God". So, love and form making or morphogenesis are intimately connected.

Water!

"Immersion in water symbolizes a return to the pre-formal, a total regeneration, a new birth, for immersion means a dissolution of forms, a reintegration into the formlessness of pre-existence, and emerging from the water is a repetition of the act of creation in which form was first expressed."
- Mircea Eliade
